Pre-School – Grade 5 students engage in singing, rhythmic and instrumental activities in music classes with a specialist teacher.Vocal and instrumental lessons for Lower School students are offered as well after school through Ms Olga.
The SRIS Lower and Upper School Drama are designed to allow for self-exploration and self-development for all of our students. The School students to learn about dramatic expression through a variety of techniques (role play, mime, story-telling, acting and cooperative games) and cross-disciplinary activities, such making masks in Art class for their own drama productions. Students are encouraged to share their own cultural heritage and stories and to be active in the various stages of a production – from writing to set creation to performing.
The Handicraft program at SRIS takes advantage of traditional and modern techniques from the region and beyond to inspire our students to discover and nurture their creative skills. SRIS Lower School students explore the world of handicrafts with a specialist teacher using a variety of materials and processes. This hands-on experience allows our youngest students to engage with the tactile nature of the materials, fostering a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in creating handmade items. Through this program, students develop fine motor skills, patience, and an understanding of cultural heritage while expressing their own unique creativity.
